Cancer Treatment Centers of America starts the Clinical Pathways Program

In a collaborative effort with NantHealth and Allscripts, Cancer Treatment Center of America is implementing a new technical solution which would allow for it to access to all the electronic health records (EHRs) in the NantHealth clinical records to help in decision making. This would be the first time that this has been made possible and is aimed at improving the quality of healthcare provision in the clinics. The Clinical Pathways project, as it has been christened, will help inform the cancer treatment process without necessarily disrupting the physician’s workflow. It works much like an operating system but specializing solely in the collection and preservation of medical and clinical data to ease the manner in which healthcare is provided in the hospitals. It was developed, naturally, with the input of numerous oncologists from across the country.

Cancer Treatment Center of America aimed to make the Clinical Pathways projects as reflective of their organizational philosophy as possible. A truly patient-centered program, this project is aimed to eliminate the guesswork in cancer treatment and ensure that the attainment of the best possible results. It is constantly updated with new oncological data so that a patient’s records are integrated with the latest available research, treatment methods and any complementary therapies which would ensure that they have access to the best possible care for their specific condition.

Different patients have different kinds of cancers at different stages, which makes it imprudent for a one-shoe-fits-all approach to cancer treatment. However, keeping up with developments in the field of cancer research can be very tedious and may prove hard to do since the field is fast evolving. This new technology ensures that all the available data is collected and sieved per the patient’s specific condition without overtasking the physician with extra work. It reduces the chances of errors and ensures more effective treatment.

Cancer Treatment Centre of America was founded in 1988 and is a network of five hospitals that combine conventional cancer treatment methods with integrative therapies for a more effective result. Its main headquarters are in Boca Raton in the state of Florida.

Why Patients with Mental Health Illnesses Like Depression should Visit Neurocore Brain Performance Centers

Depression is the most prevalent mental illness these days since it has claimed the lives of many people. A new study has found out that most depressed individuals fail to see psychiatric help due to social stigma. It should be noted that cases of this disorder can reduce significantly if people are aware of its symptoms and prevalence. On May every year, people come together to address this concern when commemorating Mental Health Awareness Month.

Depression can occur due to various causes. One can inherit the disorder from genes of a family member who was a victim. The disease can also affect a person when coping with stressful situations like unemployment or loss of a close relative. Research endeavors dedicated on depression are usually overlooked and underfunded. More research efforts and financial resources have been set aside to less prevalent disorders. Depression has also been concluded as a causative factor of disabilities in youths and adults.

The rate at which suicide cases are being reported is alarming. Most young individuals die due to their suicidal tendencies. Among the factors that lead to suicide, depression plays a bigger role. The good news is that those who feel suicidal or depressed can call the National Suicide Prevention hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

Just like other diseases, major depressive disorder takes a toll on people’s well-being. When depressed, one is likely to exhibit signs such as general tension, shortness of breath, headache, and stomachache. However, most of the signs and symptoms vary depending on a person.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America Part of New Initiative

One of the most concerning physical ailments and diseases for all men across the world is prostate cancer. Unfortunately, the awareness of the disease is still relatively low and most people are not aware of all of the benefits that can come with early screening. In an attempt to educate more people about the disease and encourage people to take advantage of early screening, three major organizations are teaming up to help eligible people receive a free screening.

The three organizations, which are Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the National Football League Alumni Association, and LabCorp have formed a joint venture to try and educate more men and increase the overall access to the very important prostate screening. Over the next few months, more than 2,000 men that are older than 40 years old and meet other physical eligibility requirements will be able to sign up and receive a free screening at any of the nearly 2,000 locations across the country. Even after the first 2,000 free slots, those that are eligible will still be able to sign up for a screening at a much discounted rate of only $25.

One of the primary partners of the initiative, Cancer Treatment Centers of America Global, has continued to provide cancer-screening services to customers. Today, the organization has a network of five hospitals that serve a range of patients that are fighting different cancer problems. The organization offers a very unique approach to preventing and treating cancer including surgery, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, radiation, and other therapy services. The organization currently has its hospitals located in several major markets including Chicago, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. The new initiative is just the latest step of the organization to try and help people learn more about their risks, develop plans to screen and prevent, and hopefully treat the disease.
